An heirloom tomato variety associated with Oswego, Illinois. The large beefbeefsteak-type fruits are a deep pink color and weigh up to half a kilogram. The fruits combine sweetness with a distinct tomato aroma. The plants are vigorous, tall, and have potato leaves. This variety is highly productive and begins to bear fruit about 80 days after planting. Excellent for preserves as well as sandwiches and salads. The seeds were preserved by the Benson family, and in 2003, the variety was listed in the Seed Savers Exchange.
