Florida Pink is a large, pink tomato with a fleshy interior and few seeds. The fruits, weighing about 400–800 g, are well-suited for slicing into thick slices for sandwiches and for use in salads. Their full flavor also makes ripe tomatoes ideal for homemade sauce.
The variety has a place in the history of seed collections: TomatoFest lists it in the 1989 Seed Savers Exchange catalog, submitted by Thane H. Earle of Wisconsin. It was later included in variety trials at Auburn University. These are key milestones in its documented cultivation history.
The plant grows tall and requires sturdy support. It is a rather late-season variety, so it’s best to plant it in a warm, sunny spot. Heavy clusters should be tied up for additional support. For comparison, “Sandul Moldovan” is a good match among similar pink tomatoes suitable for slicing.
