The fruits of this variety were originally harvested in a monastery garden near Istanbul, Turkey. The fruits are small, no more than 5 cm in diameter, with excellent flavor and a surprising appearance. The skin is slightly firm, with numerous clearly visible patterns that change color as the fruit ripens. This is a relatively late-season variety; the fruits ripen about 85 days after being transplanted in the ground. Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tomatoes!
In collections, you’ll also find the name “Striped Turkish Monastery”, which preserves the memory of the monastery garden. The red fruits with golden stripes look great served whole or cut in half.
