Vigor
Also known as: growth momentum
Vigor refers to a plant’s growth rate and overall vitality. High-vigor tomato plants develop roots, leaves, and shoots quickly and recover more easily after periods of stress. However, excessive vigor can lead to overly vigorous vegetative growth at the expense of fruit production. If vigor is excessive, first check nitrogen fertilization, watering, and light exposure; if vigor is low, check the condition of the roots and growing conditions.
