ToBRFV

Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) is one of the most dangerous tomato viruses in recent years. It causes leaf deformities, mosaic patterns, brown discoloration, and characteristic rough spots on the fruit, significantly reducing their market value. It spreads very easily by mechanical means via hands, tools, clothing, and crates. Contaminated seed surfaces can also be a source of infection. Transmission of the virus from nasiona to a seedling is relatively rare, but it can trigger an outbreak that spreads rapidly during work with the plants. There is no effective treatment for infected plants; therefore, protection relies primarily on hygiene, disinfection of tools, and the use of seed that has been tested for ToBRFV.
