Potassium Deficiency
Potassium deficiency is characterized by the drying out of the edges of older leaves, weaker fruit coloration, and reduced fruit shelf life. Plants become more susceptible to drought and high temperatures. During fruit ripening, tomatoes’ potassium requirements increase significantly. Potassium should be supplemented only after considering the pH, previous fertilization, and soil fertility, as an excess of potassium interferes with the uptake of other nutrients.
