Phosphorus deficiency

Phosphorus deficiency causes stunted growth, poor root development, and dark green or purple leaf coloration. Symptoms often appear in cool soil, even when phosphorus levels are sufficient. In many cases, raising the soil temperature is more effective than increasing fertilizer application.
