Sulfur (S)

Sulfur is a macronutrient essential for the synthesis of proteins, enzymes, and many compounds responsible for proper plant metabolism. It also plays a role in nitrogen utilization. A sulfur deficiency manifests as a pale coloration of young leaves, similar to a nitrogen deficiency, but it primarily appears on the youngest parts of the plant. Before applying a sulfur-containing fertilizer, confirm the deficiency and take into account the pH and previous fertilization.
