Enzymes

Enzymes are proteins that catalyze nearly all chemical reactions occurring in plant cells. Among other things, they participate in photosynthesis, respiration, seed germination, fruit ripening, and nutrient uptake. Their activity depends on temperature, water availability, and proper plant nutrition. Without enzymes, the growth and development of tomatoes would not be possible.
