Pollen Fertility

Also known as: pollen viability

Pollen fertility refers to the ability of pollen grains to successfully fertilize a flower and set fruit. It is strongly dependent on temperature and humidity. Both heat and cold can significantly reduce pollen viability, leading to flower drop and lower yields. In greenhouses, pollination is often improved through proper ventilation and the use of bumblebees.
