Phenotype

A phenotype refers to all the observable characteristics of a plant, such as height, fruit size, color, taste, and growth rate. It results from the interaction between genes and environmental conditions. That is why two plants of the same variety may look slightly different, despite having identical genetic material. The genotype determines a plant’s potential, while the phenotype shows how that potential is realized under specific growing conditions.
