Phytohormones
Also known as: plant hormones
Phytohormones are natural substances that regulate plant growth and development. Even in very small amounts, they influence germination, root development, shoot growth, flowering, fruit ripening, and stress responses. The most important phytohormones include auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, ethylene, abscisic acid, and brassinosteroids. The balance among them determines the proper development of the tomato.
