Plant debris consists of the remains left after the end of the growing season, including stems, leaves, roots, and unharvested fruit. It can serve as a source of overwintering pathogens and pests. Healthy residues can be composted, while heavily infested ones should be removed from the crop or disposed of in accordance with crop hygiene guidelines.
