Rosella Crimson.” The plant has the same growth habit characteristic of dwarf varieties (a very vigorous plant with thick stems and crinkled leaves) and high yields. The fruit is dark purple, with a dark pink cross-section. Its flavor is often compared to that of “
Cherokee Purple.” It originates from Australia. The fruit ripens in about 75 days.
Rosella Purple was selected from breeding material of ‘Rosella Crimson.’ Craig LeHoullier gave it a name referring to its darker color. Thus, two fruit colors emerged from a single family of dwarf tomatoes.
