New Big Dwarf is a variety bred at the beginning of the 20th century, a cross between the Ponderosa and Dwarf Champion tomatoes, introduced to the market by S. M. Isbell & Co. in 1909. This dwarf variety grows to a height of about 60-90 cm, which makes it ideal for growing in pots, on balconies and terraces.

The fruits are large, with a slightly flattened, slightly ribbed shape and weigh an average of 250-350 g, although they can reach up to half a kilogram. They have an intense, dark pink color with fleshy, juicy flesh with a balanced, sweet and sour taste. New Big Dwarf is characterized by exceptional yield for a dwarf variety, and the first fruits ripen after about 65-70 days from planting.

The plant has strong stems, but it is advisable to support the branches due to the weight of the fruit. The variety does not require intensive pruning, apart from removing excess leaves to prevent the bush from becoming too dense.

This is an excellent choice for gardeners with limited space looking for tomatoes with large fruit and great flavour.
