The Malakhitovaya Shkatulka variety (Malachite Box, from Russian малахитовая шкатулка) comes from Russia, and its name refers to the malachite boxes characteristic of the Urals. This early variety is distinguished by fruits of a light green to olive color with intense green, juicy flesh. The fruits are medium-sized, can weigh from 200 to 400 grams and have a unique, sweet, fruity flavor with a delicate hint of acidity. This makes them ideal for salads and as an ingredient in green ketchup.
Malachite Box was bred in Siberia, which ensures its excellent performance even in colder climates, while also doing well in warmer conditions.
