Personally, we really appreciate orange varieties. They catch the eye with their intense color and look beautiful when cut open. “Summer Cider” is a very high-yielding variety. The beefsteak-type fruits are very large (up to 1 kilogram) and very meaty, with a distinct tomato flavor. The fruit reaches maturity about 85 days after planting. The plant is tall and requires staking or tying up. Definitely worth recommending! Note: We have not yet been able to determine the leaf habit of this variety; in every generation, plants with both potato-type and regular leaves appear, and despite more than a dozen generations, the stabilization of this trait is still ongoing. For the sake of consistency, we consider the potato-shaped leaf form to be the dominant and primary one; we do not collect seeds from plants with regular leaves.
