One of the best varieties of orange tomatoes. The fruits, which can weigh up to 650 grams, are a deep orange color, very fleshy, and virtually seedless. This lack of seeds is particularly noticeable in the first fruits on each cluster. When cut open, the fruit reveals nothing but beautiful, perfectly orange, uniform flesh. In terms of flavor, it resembles red varieties more than yellow ones. The fruit reaches maturity about 75 days after transplanting.
Marjorie Morris of Indiana discovered this plant while growing from a packet of “Pineapple” seeds. She named it “Orange Strawberry,” a reference to its orange color and strawberry-like shape, and passed the seeds on to Carolyn Male. Thus, a single discovery became a distinct variety in the collections.
