Sunburns
Also known as: sunburn
Sunburn occurs as a result of direct exposure of the fruit or leaves to intense solar radiation. Light-colored spots appear on the fruit, which later turn brown, reducing their quality. The risk increases after excessive defoliation or during prolonged heat waves. It is important to maintain the foliage covering the fruit, gradually acclimate seedlings to the sun, and provide temporary shade during extreme heat; damaged tissue will not regenerate.
