Soil Quality

Soil quality refers to the set of physical, chemical, and biological properties that determine its suitability for growing tomatoes. It includes, among other things, soil structure, humus content, pH, nutrient content, microbial activity, and water-holding capacity. Good soil ensures healthy root system development and allows plants to reach their full yield potential. Improving soil quality is a long-term process, but it yields lasting benefits. It’s best to start with a soil analysis, regularly add mature compost, and avoid compacting wet soil.
