Soil flora

Soil flora is the traditional term for soil microbiota, that is, the community of microorganisms living in the soil. It includes, among others, bacteria, archaea, fungi, and protists. These microorganisms can be beneficial, neutral, or pathogenic; among other things, they participate in the decomposition of organic matter and the cycling of nutrients. A diverse microbiota is an important component of proper soil function.
