Seed Fermentation

Seed fermentation is a natural process used when producing one’s own seed. It involves leaving the pulp containing the seeds for 2–4 days until the gelatinous coating surrounding nasiona breaks down. This process facilitates seed cleaning and can reduce the number of certain microorganisms on their surface. However, fermentation that lasts too long can reduce germination capacity, so once the process is complete, nasiona should be thoroughly rinsed and dried.
