Light discoloration of the leaves

Also known as: light-colored spots on tomato leaves

Light discoloration of leaves is a symptom indicating a problem with the plant’s functioning, not a disease in itself. It can result from nutrient deficiencies, root damage, abnormal soil pH, heat stress, or infection. Before applying fertilizers or plant protection products, it is important to determine the actual cause of the problem. The appearance of the discoloration itself often provides a great deal of valuable diagnostic information. Note whether the changes began on young or old leaves, examine the roots, and check the pH and moisture content of the soil.
