Fruit cracking is a physiological disorder characterized by the splitting of the tomato skin. It most often occurs after heavy watering or rainfall following a period of drought. The risk is higher in thin-skinned and large-fruited varieties. The best way to prevent it is to maintain soil moisture levels as stable as possible.
