Electrolytes
Electrolytes are substances that, when dissolved in water, form ions that conduct electricity. In soil solution or nutrient solution, ions such as nitrate, ammonium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulfate are present and are absorbed by tomato roots. Electrical conductivity (EC) is influenced by the concentration and type of all ions present. For proper plant nutrition, both their quantity and their relative proportions are important.
