Crop Uniformity

Also known as: yield equalization

Crop uniformity refers to the degree to which fruits are consistent in terms of size, shape, color, and ripening time. High uniformity is particularly valued in commercial production because it facilitates sorting and sales. In many old collector’s varieties, greater variation in the fruit is a natural characteristic and does not indicate a decline in quality.
