Conductor bundle

The vascular bundles form the plant’s transport system. The wood (xylem) mainly transports water containing dissolved minerals from the roots to the above-ground parts, while the phloem distributes sugars and other organic compounds between source and sink organs. Their proper functioning is essential for the growth and nutrition of all parts of the tomato plant.
