Coconut fiber

Coconut coir is one of the most popular growing media used in soilless cultivation. It is characterized by good water-holding capacity, high air permeability, and a stable structure. However, it is not chemically inert: it may contain high levels of potassium, sodium, and chlorides, and may retain some cations. For cultivation, select high-quality material that has been washed and properly buffered, monitor its EC, and adjust the nutrient solution composition to match the growing medium’s properties.
