Composting

Composting is a controlled process of organic matter decomposition that results in the formation of compost. When managed properly, compost reaches high temperatures, which reduces the number of many pathogens and weed seeds. However, you should not compost heavily infested tomato plants, especially if you are not certain that the compost pile will reach a sufficiently high temperature.
