Bacterial Spotting of Tomatoes
Bacterial spot is a disease caused by bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas. Small, dark spots surrounded by a yellow halo appear on the leaves, and small dark spots appear on the fruit, reducing its quality. The disease is favored by cooler, humid conditions and frequent wetting of the leaves. The pathogen can be transmitted through infected seeds and during cultivation practices. The most effective method of protection is prevention and the use of healthy seed.
