Barry's Crazy Cherry catches the eye with its huge, branched clusters of small tomatoes. The bright yellow fruits are oval-shaped with a small tip and a sweet flavor. They’re great as a snack straight from the vine, in salads, and on a colorful platter.
The variety comes from Brad Gates’ Wild Boar Farms collection. Its hallmark is the particularly high number of fruits per cluster—Baker Creek describes clusters containing about 20–40 cherry tomatoes. This is an approximate number, depending on growing conditions.
The plant grows tall and requires sturdy support, especially for the heavy clusters. The first ripe fruits can be expected approximately 75 days after planting the seedlings. The light-colored fruits can be paired with the dark-colored “Black Cherry” for a contrast in color and a comparison of the flavors of the two cherry tomatoes.
