Yellow Plum produces small, yellow, plum-shaped fruits that grow in clusters. They are about 3 cm long and are easy to pick as needed for salads, snacks, or garnishing dishes. Their light color pairs well with red and dark cherry tomatoes.
Yellow plum tomatoes have a long history of cultivation. The name “Yellow Plum” appears in old seed catalogs, and W.W. Tracy’s book Tomato Culture also features an illustration of its characteristic cluster. Growing this variety therefore allows you to see in your garden a type of tomato that has been recognized by gardeners for many generations.
The plants grow tall and require supports. You can expect the first harvest approximately 65 days after planting the seedlings. If you like similar, elongated fruits in various colors, pair it with the red “Cherry Roma” or the dark “Black Plum.”
