The "Yellow Furry Boar
" tomato is a unique variety developed by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms in California. Its name comes from the fruit’s distinctive, slightly hairy skin, which makes it a rarity among tomatoes. The fruits are medium-sized, weighing between 60 and 120 grams, with an intense yellow color and green stripes that turn golden as they ripen.
This variety is characterized by juicy, yellow-white flesh with a mild flavor and a subtle hint of sweetness, making it perfect for eating raw or in salads. It is a tall plant that grows throughout the season, reaching a height of about 200 cm. “Yellow Furry Boar ” ripens about 80 days after planting, and due to its unusual texture and sweet flavor, it is popular among collectors of rare tomato varieties.
Its unusual, matte skin without any sheen sets it apart from other tomatoes. Thanks to its high yields right up until the first frosts, it is highly valued in hobby gardening.
