In some collections, it is grouped with the variety ‘Dixie Golden Giant’. Goldie was introduced to the commercial market by Gleckler’s Seedsmen in 1977; its exact earlier origins remain unknown. A highly prized orange-hued tomato, it has an excellent flavor and is tender and meaty with a thin skin. This variety is characterized not only by its captivating appearance and flavor but also by its high yield. The fruit reaches maturity approximately 90 days after transplanting. To fully enjoy its flavor, we recommend waiting to harvest until the stem end turns a delicate shade of pink. This will be a sign that the tomato is ready to be picked.
