The resemblance to “
Dwarf Beauty King” is no coincidence. Both varieties are derived from a cross between “Dwarf Wild Fred” and “
Beauty King” created by Vince Lavallo. Firebird Sweet was selected and named by Craig LeHoullier, and the Dwarf Tomato Project made it available in 2017. Its fruits are red with distinctive golden stripes, and their weight does not exceed 300 grams. The skin is thin, and the flavor is intense, rather sweet, and very aromatic. The plant is compact, with a strong, thick stem and strongly rugose leaves—typical of dwarf varieties. It blooms and bears fruit throughout the season, and the first fruits ripen as early as about 75 days after transplanting.
