A tomato from the Indigo group. Magnificent fruits with a perfect color—pearl black (where sunlight hits them) and chocolate brown. Each fruit weighs no more than 150 grams. Very good yields. The fruits ripen in about 80 days. A tall plant with regular-type leaves.

This variety was bred by Brad Gates, known for his tomatoes with unusual coloring. In Chestnut Chocolate, the striking effect comes from the combination of a chocolate-brown background with nearly black patches on the skin where it is exposed to light.
