A very vigorous plant with a thick stem and distinctive leaves. It produces abundant clusters of fruit. The fruits weigh up to 400 grams, are dark purple, and are delicious. It can be trained to grow on a single stem (it will not exceed about 100 cm), or it can be grown with multiple stems in a trailing form. The fruits ripen in about 70 days.
The name is a combination of the names of its parents: “Brandywine” and “Dwarf Wild Fred.” The cross was created by Vince Lavallo, and the Dwarf Tomato Project released “Brandyfred” in 2016. In addition to its dark fruit, it is notable for its broad, potato-like leaves with a wrinkled surface.
