A dwarf plant, ideal for balconies and areas where space is limited. It also produces an excellent yield. The slightly flattened fruits of this variety are slightly smaller than those of “Cherokee Chocolate,” weighing about 200–250 grams. They have a similar flavor but are fleshier. The skin has lightly colored shoulders and is resistant to damage. The fruits reach maturity about 75 days after transplanting.
Chocolate Champion was developed by the Dwarf Tomato Project from a cross between 'Golden Dwarf Champion' and 'Cherokee Chocolate'. Ray South named it, and the variety was released in 2014. It is part of a collaborative effort by gardeners to develop tomatoes that combine a compact growth habit with fruit suitable for slicing.
