Purple Marvel is an interesting choice for lovers of dark tomatoes. The fruits ripen mid-season, reach a weight of up to 250 g, and have a dark color with green shoulders. They are distinguished by their balanced flavor, but their delicate skin is prone to cracking, so it’s important to maintain consistent soil moisture.
In our cultivation, this variety yielded well in moderate temperatures, but set fruit less reliably during hot weather. On particularly sunny days, ventilating and shading the tunnel or greenhouse can be helpful.
The plants have a regular, indeterminate growth habit but grow at a moderate rate. When trained to a single shoot, they reached a height of about 150–180 cm by the end of the season in our trials.
