The Pink Siberian Tiger
tomato is a unique variety that delights with both its appearance and flavor. The fruit of this plant has a unique appearance: it features an intense pink skin with dark purple markings resembling tiger stripes, which is how the plant got its name. The anthocyanin markings on the fruit are more pronounced on those that have received more sunlight, which adds to their unique charm. The fruit weighs between 200 and 300 g and has a meaty, juicy flesh.
In terms of flavor, the “Pink Siberian Tiger ” tomato offers a perfect balance between sweetness and mild acidity, making it ideal for eating raw, in salads, and for preserves. This is a mid-late variety, and its plants are strong and productive, ensuring a good harvest. The plant grows to about 2 meters and requires staking and proper care.
When harvesting, pay attention to the pink part of the fruit and how it begins to soften slightly: dark shoulders alone do not yet indicate ripeness.
If you’re looking for a tomato that not only tastes great but will also be a decorative addition to your garden, “Pink Siberian Tiger ” is an excellent choice.

This line originated from a cross made by Mark McCaslin: he combined the dark-pigmented P20/OSU Blue variety with “Beauty King.” Seeds from subsequent generations were distributed to Dean Slater, Blane Horton, and Michigan Heirlooms, among others. This is a modern story of collaboration among breeders, not an ancient tomato variety from Siberia.
