Impressive—that word best captures the bountiful yield of this variety. The fruits are deep red, elongated, up to about 15 cm long, and resemble bell peppers. The skin is delicate, the flesh is meaty, and the fruits are virtually seedless. They are perfect for eating raw, as well as for sauces and salsas.

The variety was selected by Martin Sloan of Metuchen, New Jersey, who saved seeds from tomatoes he received from a colleague. He popularized it through his company, The Tomato Seed Company, in the early 1980s. The elongated, fleshy fruits are comparable to the “Opalka” variety.
