RAF is a variety developed by the French company Clause in the 1960s, which stands out from others due to its exceptional (and I mean truly exceptional!) flavor and aroma. The fruit weighs up to half a kilogram. This variety is exceptionally resistant to salinity in water and soil, which also affects the flavor of the fruit. The name comes from the acronym RAF, derived from the first letters of “Resistente A Fusarium,” meaning resistance to Fusarium wilt in tomatoes. It is a short plant that will not exceed 150 cm by the end of the season, although it is not a determinate variety. It is a mid-early variety.
