Another Polish touch in the world of tomatoes! There are two tomato varieties with this name: one is elongated, pear-shaped, and pink, while the other—available in our store—is a pink beefsteak tomato. A tall-growing variety with regular leaves, it yields exceptionally well, producing fruits weighing up to half a kilogram. The fruits are slightly ribbed, sometimes with a faintly green section near the stem, and have an excellent flavor—clearly sweeter than sour. This is a mid-late variety; the tall plants require staking.
Carolyn Male received seeds from Duanne Smith in 1991 and made them available through the Seed Savers Exchange a year later. This variety is one of the tomato varieties of Polish origin that have been preserved thanks to collectors abroad as well.
