Big Raspberry entices with its raspberry-pink color and fleshy fruit that’s perfect for slicing. The tomatoes are large, slightly flattened, and weigh about 400 g. Their sweet, full-bodied flavor makes them a great fit for sandwiches, salads with onions, and a simple platter with olive oil.
The records in Tatiana’s TOMATObase include information from collector Will Bonsall stating that the seeds originated in Poland. However, the original Polish name has not been established. This is an interesting trace of a tomato that is returning to our gardens under an English name referring to its raspberry-red color.
This variety grows tall and requires support. The first fruits ripen approximately 75 days after planting the seedlings. It’s a good choice if you appreciate meaty tomatoes for everyday cooking. The ‘Polish Giant’ variety is a suitable comparison for its large pink fruits.
