The history of this variety is associated with Jere Gettle, who discovered it at a market in San Ignacio, Belize. First introduced to the market by Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds in 2008, since then this tomato has gained considerable popularity.

The plant is characterized by strong growth, requires tying or staking. Belize Pink Heart produces large, fleshy fruits with delicate skin, which can reach a weight of 200 to 400 grams.
