The Georgia Streak variety is a unique, late-ripening beefsteak tomato from the US state of Georgia. Introduced to the market by Seed Savers Exchange in 1990, it has gained popularity due to its impressive fruit, which can reach a weight of 300 grams to even 1 kilogram. The fruit has an intense golden-yellow skin with red discolorations both on the outside and in the flesh, which gives them a beautiful, marbled appearance.
The Georgia Streak tomato is valued not only for its appearance, but also for its unique, sweet taste with a slight acidity. The flesh is fleshy and delicate, ideal for eating raw or as an addition to salads and other dishes. The plant grows tall (up to about 1.8 meters) and requires support in the form of stakes or ladders. This is a late variety, the fruit of which ripens after about 90 days from planting.
This is an excellent proposition for gardeners who appreciate beautiful, large fruits with a unique appearance and taste, and are ready to provide the plant with appropriate support in cultivation.
