A variety native to Mexico. The fruit has a unique, heavily ribbed, saddlebag-shaped form. The average fruit weight is 280–500 grams. The color ranges from red to pink, depending on the stage of ripeness. The flesh is meaty, with little juice. It has an excellent, well-balanced flavor. The fruit reaches maturity approximately 85 days after planting. The plant is tall and requires staking or tying up.

Its name is associated with Tlacolula in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Its distinctive ribbing is worth comparing to that of “Zapotec,” which is also associated with this region.
