The Red Boar variety is a unique tomato bred by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms. It is a mutation derived from the popular Green Zebra variety. Red Boar is characterized by medium-sized, round fruits weighing from 60 to 120 grams. The fruits have a distinct red color with intense, yellow-green stripes, which gives them an extremely attractive appearance. The skin is thicker than in other varieties, which makes the fruits resistant to cracking.
In terms of taste, the Red Boar variety is exceptionally appreciated - the sweet and slightly sour taste makes it an ideal tomato for salads and fresh consumption. The plants are of the indeterminate type, which means that they grow tall and require tying. Red Boar is a variety with high yield, and the fruits ripen after about 70-75 days from planting.
Thanks to its unique taste and attractive appearance, Red Boar is gaining recognition both in home gardens and at fairs, where it often wins taste competitions.
