A strain developed by Wild Boar Farms and named in honor of activist, author, and journalism professor Michael Pollan. The most distinctive feature of this variety is its fruit, which most closely resembles the
Green Zebra variety in color, but unlike that variety, it is smaller and has a characteristic, elongated shape, always ending in the beak-like tip typical of this variety. The fruits ripen about 75 days after planting in the ground, and their weight rarely exceeds 100 grams. They often grow in clusters on the plant, similar to grape varieties.
Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms describes it as a selected mutation of the “Green Zebra.” The similarity in color is therefore related to its origin; in addition, it is distinguished by a milder, sweeter flavor.
