The pink fruits weigh up to 240 g and surprise with their rich flavor—and especially their sweetness. This variety is perfect as a base for aromatic purees, sauces, and salsas, and thanks to its sweetness, it’s a great addition to any sandwich. It’s a late-season variety that reaches maturity about 85 days after planting.
It is a Hungarian heirloom variety associated with Kalman Lajvort of Edison, New Jersey, where the seeds were brought from Europe. It combines the characteristics of a slicing tomato with the fleshiness useful for sauces. The tall plants require staking.
